The first time that VixenII showed her speed is when she won the New York Yacht Club 40 one design series in 1915. This was the first victory in a long line off matchrace success.

VixenII participated over the years in many race’s and won some really famous of those like the Foxy’s wooden Boat Regatta and the Boston seaport Museum Regatta aswell as the Antigua Classic Race in 2002.

After her 1st entry in the Antigua race her photo was shown on many sailing magazine covers, recently in the biggest Dutch newspaper (Telegraaf) and a 8 page artikel was written in the “waterkapioen”

In 1999 she was the committee’ s ship during the St Thomas Rolex Cup Regatta and won the Sweethearts of the Caribbean Race in Tortola.

In 2001 she reentered the Antigua classic Race after a refit and became 2nd, the year after she won this famous race.

Also her sisterships , NYYC 40 aswell , the Marilee 9in the US)and present the Rowdy (in Europe) are currently winning almost every classic regatta they join. The Nyyc 40’s belong to the small list of competitors that have a lot of succes.

The highes speed that is still in the plotter , she clocked for the cross-over from the Azores to Holland about 500 km south of Ireland in a storm. She did 16.1 knots!

For 2009 still several regatta’s are available.
